Finished modding my spare back box for an improved sound.smile

Bit of a flop really, can't tell if its louder or not..... Seems to be a bit deeper when on the move, but the video results are inconclusive....

I basically chopped out all the perforated tubing, replaced it with stainless pipe, and chucked half the packing back in...
Ah well, only cost me £100 quid, and I had a good bash at stainless weldingyes

Any who the results are here...

Did you do the type of welding used by Aston Martin? Ultrasonic I think it is called. Sounds very clever.

The best sounding Aston that I have ever heard is the Vantage GTE. Wonderful, but perhaps only to car enthusiasts. That is the exhaust system that you would like. I think you just remove all the silencers. wink

Just normal MIG welding..... But I've never done it on stainless..
Much trickier than mild steel, but good to learn a different technique...

Quicksilver £1000
Lunasilver £100

I hope you did the welding in a very well ventilated area as the fumes contain a carcinogenic when welding stainless.

A fair point hehe

Anyway speaking of exhausts.... you should have seen the exhausts on the 4 factory Honda NSR500s that turned up at Donington yesterday. Little works of art, they were made from loads of sections all welded together to create the expansion chambers. Looked and sounded amazing cloud9

My mate has a Pete Gibson system on his ZXR that's made in the same way.... 100's of seperate sections welded together, its as light as a feather..
