From what I can understand there's quite a few options for the audio in the v8v.

Could someone please explain what these were? I'm mainly looking for 06/07 cars.

I have the bog standard audio. Easily the worst audio I have had in any of my cars for the past 10 years. AM should be ashamed of themsleves (IMO).
I understand the 700W upgrade is a real belter though.

IIRC no options on 4.3 cars
3 options on 4.7 cars, std (crap), Premium (excellent & VFM), B&O (great toy but hard to set up well)
I've had premium in both mine but very rarely use it wink

ipod integration was a retrofit, either via Denison Gateway, or Works Service.
The 700w "premium" is pretty good when cranked up. At more subtle volumes it's pretty underwhelming though.
Oh and if it's a bit scratchy distorted when on the move.... it's a crappy relay in the footwell that switches the speakers to bluetooth phone.

I have a 4.3 with Premium Audio, so it was an option.

Best stereo i have ever had in a car.

Premium audio in mine, it's easily the best I've experienced on a car, I'm comparing to BMW and Mercedes. I find it clear at all times, and the CD especially is good to listen to.

I have premium audio in my V8V with a Parrot Mki9100 fitted for ipod and telephone. Both are very good.
When I went to look at a few cars prior to purchasing mine, when I asked about the audio system, the dealers said that "there isn't much difference really". Bcensoredks yes there is!
I had purchased Grants book anyway and there is a section on the audio in the cars and went off that. I made sure that any car I was considering had the premium audio installed, it was a must for me.

I've got Premium in my 4.7. It's superb when playing tracks from my USB stick (plugged in to the port under the centre armrest).
Radio reception isn't too good, though, but I am out in the sticks somewhat! It's probably better in the earlier cars with the external aerial.
The Bluetooth integration is also very good in mine. Never had any issues with any phone.

Seriously, this will be the best £20 that you will spend in your search for an AM:

It answers all of your questions, and more.

700W Premium Audio in mine - unbelievable when set up.

As far as i know there is:

- 160W Standard Audio (not rated at all)
- 700W Premium Audio (very highly rated)
- 'branded' Audio - such as B&O upgrade (very expensive upgrade £5K+ and i have been told is not really worth the upgrade compared to Premium - can't vouch for that though as i haven't listened to it).
