Just putting together a major West Coast and Highland tour for next May and was considering doing the Pass and staying over night at the Applecross Inn,if anyone can
offer any advice or review for the Inn and its parking etc...... I would be most grateful.

Although I have already booked several Hotels along the way I would be pleased to hear of any other notables throughout the Wester Ross Loop and adjoining regions.

Many thanks for your assistance,I think a recommendation from the forum of fellow AM owners may be more beneficial than Trip Advisor which seems currently to be getting
out weighed with negatives and trivia about only getting one rasher of bacon, having a very small sausagerolleyes or about someone having a moth in their room.

I'm more interested in safe parking, decent driving roads and of course copious amounts of Cake.thumbup

Great chips in Arinacrinachd !

Torridon is a bit further round the coast, however, only a few hours (IIRC) after coming over the pass. Not covered parking, however, hotel was very remote, so no concerns re: security.

I have been many times to the Applecross inn. The food is worth the trip alone.
No covered parking as mentioned above but very secure due to its remoteness.
The Inn is very busy during summer season and limited amount of rooms so best check availability before you go.
If you get the weather it's absolutely stunning. I have done the pass in thick fog and its pretty hairy!!
Always on 2 wheels tho but I feel a trip in the Aston coming up around those parts.

Cheers,

I know the Torridon Hotel its very nice but I know of no Chip Shop in Arinacrinachd......confused,I thought it was a bit
of a one horse town with the odd croft and a few goats thrown in.

Do expand as I like chips and would willingly put it on the agenda.thumbup

'Twas a chip hut \ shed. Probably this fact as much as anything else that made us stop ... but they were good ... smile

Enjoy the trip.

Nothing in today Mikey, but thanks for the links.

One you might like in return, have a look at Loch Ness Lodge not your run of the mill Hotel or B@B but has become some what of
a sanctuary for us and the owner just loves an Aston Martin.

<escape@loch-ness-lodge.com

We always have the Affric room with beautiful views over the Loch, its highly recommended.thumbup

Seems the perfect place to wheel out my applecross vid. http://youtu.be/GUM7E-kJ9vg

Applecross was superb. In fact the whole western coast over delivers, didn't expect it to be so spectacular, all the way up to Thurso if you haven't been that far north before. I really should write up the trip at some point. We mainly stayed in b&b's, never had any issues with parking (we did pick carefully and phone in advance mind, so were well looked after). Aston got a lot of attention, mainly from Japanese tourists and the like!

Just to wet your appetite a bit more.....

Edit.

P.s. you're picking pretty much the best time of year in may. I can recommend the picture house on Skye, and if you stop in Ullapool the west house is central and has secluded parking. Also it seems that absolutely everyone in Scotland uses BT, so if you have an account you are quids in! (I appreciate that going to Scotland is sometimes about getting away from it all, just thought that might be a useful snippet).
