Which would you choose?
Discussion
There's been some discussion recently about Vanquish v DBS and DB9.1 v DBS. There is however a bit of a price gap between models.
For a similar price you could get a DB9.2 about 6 months old (latest engine, technology etc.) or a 2-3 year old DBS.
Which one would you choose and why? I'm assuming most DBS of that age will be TT2 so I'm discounting the manual option to compare the two.

DBS's of that vintage can be found in manual, but that's beside the point. DBS over the DB9 Mk 2 a very easy choice for me.
Virage (I mean DB9): Headlamp units too long, don't like LED strips or the angry bird look of the projector from the front. Really dislike the fact that the AM strake was moved from the middle of the wing vent to the top (a change for no purpose which detracts from that design element).
DBS: Best looking of all the modern Astons. Was the top of the range. Has the most road presence. Same power as DB9 Mk 2. Side by side; people flock to the DBS, DB9 not so much.

This is ultimately an emotive personal decision, performance wise there will be little or nothing in it between the two...
The DBS's higher "flagship" status, more menacing road presence and slightly more dynamic driver's package + standard B&O etc.
Vs
The new DB9's 3 stage ADS ( better GT car because of this), AM11 engine with a chunk more torque, Bi-Xenon lights, a newer car with more warranty and the latest spec nav, auto lights etc.
Newish DBS prices are also under pressure because of the very debate you are having, so they will adjust in the coming months as more 9's enter the used market. IMO.
Also don't forget the Virage, it looks like the new 9 and with a bit of arm twisting looks good value at the moment
Best of luck, why not take a trip to a dealer with all three and try them back to back

Personal choice will surely weight the discussion. My first Aston - DB9.2. - bought after test driving 3 variants. Any/all of them on offer are wonderful pieces of automotive porn (in spite of 'features' which may start to appear). Just to have owned one is a delight many of the populace will never have so enjoy your choice.
