Adios mi Amigos.......

Time to say Goodbye.
All sold up and moving on to pastures new after 3.5 years. No new car, just using the 2 other cars on my drive as well as my 1992 Kona Cinder Cone push bike
Owning the DB9 has been a fantastic experience and one I would recommend to everyone. Kids from Edinburgh council estates simply do not get to possess the most beautiful car in the world
.........well this one did. And married a beautiful wife just for good measure.
What has heightened the ownership experience for me - without doubt - has been membership of this, the best forum on Pistonheads. Much more of a Community than a Forum
There are reasons why thousands of people hover over this forum. The friendship, encouragement and advice has been invaluable for someone who knows nothing about cars and isn't even >into< cars !!!
A big Thank You to the organisers of events - Mikey K, Rob & Molly, B4rnstable, Tony Hall - and even the ones I couldn't make - Nick and Seemon. A lot of hard work goes into this type of meeting and I want them to know it is appreciated.
Thanks to Cockernee for letting me drive his boat (faster than I drove my car, it has to be said) and to Nick for taking me to the Fat Duck, where the quality of the company even managed to outshine the food. As for Mr Gould, F1 NDW and Retman - nuff said
Thanks to all the technical guys on here for advice from Yeti to Mikey to Bogie to Luna.....best not list people in this area as I know I'll miss somebody out !!
Thanks to the run-out regulars for their companionship. Thanks also to the D&D regulars - Pedro, Nick, Tony, Marcel, Seemon, Steve, Woolders, Neil, Graham, Nicolas, Kris etc - for making me so welcome too.
Apologies to those that I have annoyed over the years with my inane drivel and shameless off-topicism. I just couldn't help myself at times and I realise that there are times when I should perhaps seek medical help
Great that Ed is back (and organising trips already!!), Bob and Avinalarf are on form and Mr Gould has re-acquired his voice.
I have kept a couple of momentos from the car which I’m storing in a safe place…..next to all the gear I robbed on our runouts

Phil,
What a shock and to me sad news, what a great loss to our forum, your input is stuff of legend and input I for one have very much enjoyed and will greatly miss.
I had wondered where you had gone, quite you don't do,what ever your next move I wish you well and more importantly good health to you and your family, please
keep in touch and broadside us when possible with some none sensical Off Topic comment as the forum just ain't going to be the same without you.
Good Luck and hey
you can be the Very Very Special Guest of Honour at my Burghley Knees up,I could just see you wading through the George's massive Seafood
Platter
(couldn't find a fish) whilst swilling it down with some obscure Wine of choice.
All the very best Ed.

Wow, what a shock. Like Ed I had been wondering where you had gone and assumed you were on holiday (although that does not keep most of us away from here). Very glad I got to meet you at the D&D, and all best wishes for the future. You will always know that you once owned the most beautiful car in the world.
Please stop.
I am sitting here with floods of tears rolling down my cheeks.
Now forever etched on our collective memories......
We all remember iconic dates....
When President Kennedy got shot.
When Princess Diane died.
AND NOW....
When Jockers said adios.

Believe it or not Phil - I have been worried about you recently. Your absence had been noted and the place seemed - well, um, a bit quiet and a bit sensible! Just goes to show that you will be missed as you already have been!
Sorry to see you go mate. You're going to miss us
Come back soon x

You are avinalarf, Jockers not Cockers. I don't speak Spanish...... I am sitting here with floods of tears rolling down my cheeks.
