'Morning All,

My 2006 car is in for a service at the moment and apparently needs a new (or pair of) shock absorbers.

The price quoted by a reputable independent is nearly £1,100 for the parts only!

They're only dampers for heavens sake.....

Surely there must be an OEM (Bilstein?) supplier people have used.

Googled though and can't find anything, just pictures of Astons in Bilstein livery.

Any help, please?

Simon.

Seriously consider putting a BR switchable kit on rather than splurge that money.
That's certainly what I'll be doing when one of our dampers need replacing.
I nearly did it this year anyway, but funds mean it'll have to wait.

BR use Bilstein dampers (same as OE electornic dampers); but specify their own valving, and for retro-fit to non ADS cars, their own Control Module.

2006 cars are fitted with Multimatic dampers (unless you have had the sports pack retro-fitted), Bilsteins were not used until 09MY onwards. smile

Sorry for the delay in respoding but I am beyond busy and my brain is going into meltdown with the workload.

Aston Martin are using Bilstein shocks but Bilstein are not allowed to sell aftermarket, so it is main stealer only unfortunately.

When the contract expires, then maybe, but for now and the forseeable future, it's a no-go.

Cheers,

8Tech.
