Aston to use Merc V8's
Discussion
I don't really view the Ford as a German engine though, in the same way I don't think Hond's built in Swindon are British.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if the partnership works, as I'm sure it will, and gives me something to look forward to test driving when they reach the used market at reasonable prices.
Thanks for setting me straight.

err so Honda's built in the UK are not British......why ? that means Astons/Jags/Range Rover/Mini/Rolls Royce ect ect are not British....?.
However Hondas are no more British than the first Aston Rapides are Austrian ad I don't ever hear anyone claiming the latter
Does anyone ever regard Mercedes or Audi cars as being anything other than German, regardless of the location of the plant ?
Rolls & Mini are far more arguable but certainly I'd just about argue Rolls are still BRitish
The factors to take into account are huge and somewhat subjective but I could happily take either side of the argument for most manufacturers these days
I think the Honda Civic was British designed.....anyway The Honda Civic is a great British export. The Bentley GT arrives in Crew from Germany as a rolling chassis complete with Phaeton suspension engine ect. It's half assembled in Crew.....and is owned by VW.... is that British or German ?

You can argue at least two different cases regarding 'country' for most manufacturers other than incredibly unusual situations like Morgan which is and always has been owned, designed & built exclusively in Britain (I think, but if not, you get the point)
I think at least some Morgans use BMW engines, shipped over from Germany, but pretty much everything else is local to the factory.Anyway, the point is still valid.

I will not be replacing mine if the new Aston has under the bonnet "Engine built by Hans Schmidt". No way.
Are you therefore saying, that you do not want any Aston Martin built after 19th July 2007?
