Hi all,
Just looking for some advice, my wife has a DB9 which is now up for its 7 years service the car has covered just 50,400 miles

It has had the coils and plugs changed at the main dealer at 45,151 so they are good and it also had a major service then also. that was Jan 2011

We purchased the car 14/5/12 last year and the dealer serviced the car at 48,200 miles, since then we have done 2,000miles and now need a service.

What to get?

Also where to go?

The service book is all main dealer with the exception of the last which was from the dealer we purchased the car from.

I have just been quoted
£1,390 for a service from main agent
£695.00 for just a oil & oil filter change and brake fluid change.

These seem crazy prices

I can get my Murcielago LP640 service main dealer £750+vat for a minor?

Can anyone recommend a local indi I am in Billericay Essex and what price should I be expecting or is this the norm>??

Please see previous threads on the benefits (or otherwise) of a main dealer service history.
Personally, my view on your car (based on age and mileage) would be that you would see little benefit in paying a premium on maintaining the main dealer history compared to the cost of using a good independent.

That aside, the £1390 you were quoted is way over the top. You need to enquire/haggle elsewhere.
A good starting point would be here...

Hi Mark - there is a list of 6 Indys in the FAQs at the top of the page. Add McGurks to this and it would be worth speaking to these guys about your requirements. You should also be getting a quote from your 2 nearest Dealers based on a collect and delivery service on a 7 year service excluding the plugs.

I'm not sure why the plugs were changed at 45k but it would be interesting to find out. There is a subtle difference between having a 7th service and having a 7 year service. Your service history will be on a central database, but NOT the details of these services.

You are correct to be looking at servicing the vehicle - ironically a low mileage can be a good reason to DO a service based on the car's lack of use smile
