Anyone have any idea as to what price you could pick up a new car at the moment. Must be getting harder to sell them now with the car being further along in it's life cycle. Does it make sense next to buying a 10/11 plate car.

if you get £5K discount off list, its all relative anyway, because that's just £5K they are not giving you when you go back to trade it in....

a 2-3 year old car is usually nearly 1/2 price, barely run in and almost sensible from a financial perspective as pretty much any new(ish) car at this price point is shedding £1K+ a month depreciation....

so as always, its down to personal circumstances .....

If they are giving 25% off V12 vantages why not big discounts off the V8's. I know some guys on here have got really good deals.

I was recently contacted by a dealer, who was offering discounts on brand new, in-stock models.

There might be some sort of annual dealer incentive, for cars sold in September, because I recall this previously.

Funny how motor dealers hate talking about discounts.

Their offer to me (as they say probably specially selected of course) was worded;
'purchase a new Aston Martin from our stock at a compelling preferential price'. Delivery before 30th September.

In my own case, after careful research of the model, I decided on a very specific and rare specification. Then, I just watched the 'Pre-owned' website. After a year, the exact car became available, and I was the owner of a perfect 'brand new' car, at just 60% of the original cost. I could have bought new, but hate spending too much money on vehicle depreciation.

If you want to save money, and can bear to be patient, perhaps that is one way to do it. On with the dateless plates, and then who knows there is a miser at the wheel. smile

Good luck Darren, with choosing you Aston Martin. After two years, owning one is still a big thrill for me.

Thanks Jon, you are right and having waited a year already a few month's more will not matter. I have bought many new cars and apart from a Boxster which had a long waiting list they have all lost too much money. Glad you still love your car as well.

This
I got such a deal on a new roadster S
Unlikely to get a deal on a built to order roadster slot as they are "out of season" about now in the UK
You could call a couple of dealers and see what new stock they are trying to move?
All that said if you want VFM (relative with an Aston wink )don't buy a new one wink
