I am useless when it comes to diagnosing any problems with the car....... however, I have regularly over the past 2 weeks got the error message below. Either "check brake lights" or "multiple bulb failure"....... On another occasion the right indicator had a problem where it flashed really quickly. And in all cases a simple on and off with the ignition solves the problem and all the lights work fine again. Until it randomly happens again. It is becoming annoying. I would say it happens every 3 or 4th trip out in the car....

I understand the lights are part of an LED unit but given the problem is intermittent I am suspicious that it could be dodgy connection perhaps? I wouldn't know where to begin looking though....... so thought I'd post here, before contacting Trinity........

When the warning appears, have you actually checked the brake lights to see if they are working properly or not?

Yes, I did on a couple of occasions and it was indeed not working. However, after a restart, all works fine so guessing the bulb isn't the issue.

Nope, but the light unit itself might be on it's way out.

At least you know that the warning system isn't throwing up spurious warnings. That could've been a reet ballache.

Where both brake lights not working or just one of them?

On the couple of occasions I checked, the driver side rear brake light was not working. Left one and strip in window worked fine. Then after a restart all 3 lights were fine.

Its either a bad connection or water in the rear light unit. If the later will need drying out before the electronics in the unit are permanently damaged.
