After a long search and finally my heart getting the better of my head I made the plunge....and now it's mine all mine

I do however have some questions...

Where in london is the best place for a professional interior clean, I have to say the dealer last owners has not left it as I hoped.

Is it worth getting the detailing done?

Why does the stereo sound like its coming from under water?

What other bits and bobs are worth doing

Keen to meet other owners in the west london area to compare notes and tips or can anyone recommend a good meet soon

Thanks also to all over members over the past few months/years whose replies have helped me spend all this money

Premium but it sounds more Primark.

Just wondered if its a general complaint but it sounds more like one I bought from halfords in the 80s and fitted myself with string instead of gold cables

Good news - its actually very good indeed, but the std settings are terrible. Try the settings in the FAQ above. smile

Turn audio system to "off" hit window down button, increase driving level to "enthusiastic" enjoy sound track as advertised. Simple!

Lovely looking car, welcome to the club.

The premium hifi is great when set up correctly.

Car looks good, you must be pleased biggrin it is eerily similar to mine, apart from the colour, is it meteorite? so no bias involved there at all wink
If you want to get to a meet try this http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Can't guarantee the technical advice smile but there will be a chance to exercise the sportpack and have a good chinwag over lunch.

Lovely car! See the FAQ / sticky for Premium Audio fixage.

If the car isn't looking its best to your eyes, Francis (Paddy on here) works wonders.

There are meets with and without cars going on pretty regularly, come along and say hi!

May be worth looking at this thread. If the crappy relay contacts have degraded to a further extent than I had then the sound could be ste when static too.

Congrats on the car btw.

Congratulations on the new car. Sport pack wheels are the best. Look forward to seeing you and the car on the Northants run. That will give it some exercise smile

Congrats, looks great!

I think the stereo (I have the Premium version) is pretty good, so as others have said, try the settings in the FAQ, otherwise may be worth getting it checked by the dealer.

For bits and bobs:
Take out Fuse 22 if you haven't already!
If yours is pre-2009 facelift then change the interior bulbs to LEDs, they only cost about £10 and there's a couple of threads on here about it. Also replace the plastic stereo and sat-nav knobs with the rather nice metal knobs from Tony Hall. He does new heater knobs too.
Also, depending on the model year, if you have a USB port in the centre console storage then you can get a portable hard drive, put all your music on it and just plug it in.

Looking lovely. I love the sport pack wheels.

Oh, of course, detailing will increase how much you love your car ;-)

Definitely remove fuse 22.
And get the book for all you need to know.
