We are happy to report that Pearl had a fantastic first holiday on tour with Petrolhead Nirvana last week. Her Bamford Rose upgrades really paid off ... and her exhaust note was a big hit everywhere she went smile

She certainly did Jeff. With 19 cars travelling over big distances the group does get split up (they have a lead car for us to 'chase' and a back marker to look after the those that get separated). We kept the lead car in our sights for 99% of the time. The others at the front of the pack varied but usually included the Ferrari you can see in the photos, the silver GT3 and the vintage Porsche. The reason that these guys were usually ahead of us was that they were all really focused and flying solo so, unlike Rob, they weren't slowed down by an anxious passenger eek

Pearl was fantastic and no-one was allowed past her without permission! Her extra oomph and switchable suspension really came into their own. There were 3 other Vantage S's on tour - the Fraser brothers got the best out of their roadster and were seen closer to the front of the pack as the tour went on. The 2 others, however, were not pedalled as hard and were seen less often. I think Pearl will be appearing in a lot of other tour photos and she and Rob have really done their bit for marketing Aston Martin and Bamford Rose yes

Cheeky! Well, ok, yes whistle

I drove one morning but decided keeping up with the lead pack around those Alpine hairpins was going to be too full on for me. If in doubt - don't do it! However, don't forget that back in April, when Rob lost his licence on the 1st day of the JLC tour in France, I drove for the rest of the tour and was awarded the honourary balls wink

Having now managed to elbow Molly out of the way it is my turn!

Pearl has been superb. BR have done a fantastic job! She is so much sharper, the turn in is much quicker. Bearing in mind that we were entering hair pins in first gear then exiting absolutely flat out then cracking her open to 7500 rpm before selecting second. No pogoing from the back end at all - BR's suspension is truly something. I just need to hone my skills sufficiently before I am ready to disable the traction control which would allow some slip. BR Mike felt that it would be unwise to do so with some of the Alpine drops being a bit scary. I feel certain that Pearl would now outdrag other Vantage S's with ease. BAMFORD ROSE I thank you for sorting out Pearl's problems . The car is now what it should have been when it left the factory.

I am convinced that the majority of AM owners have no real understanding of just how good their cars are. They need using, they need to be given their head (the cars not the owners!). Our engines are virtually indestructible, gearboxes too. The ASM. 2 is designed to cope with up to 900 BHP! To any owner or prospective owners - go on Astons PDC - that way you will learn just how capable an Aston Martin is.

This brings me to the ultimate way of demonstrating your cars prowess: book a Petrolhead Nirvana tour! We have now been on 2 and are planning for the next. Put simply the most exciting time of my life! Superb organisation, staggering scenery, full on pace ( optional)! You will make friends for life, enjoy the biggest laughs , use vast amounts of fuel and come home with a car that wants to thank you. Molly and I have been home for 5 days and we are still buzzing!

Whole heartily agree Rob with your last statement.
I can't wait for another chance to drive round Europe and agreed the car loves it and fuel!
