Yup, went for a test drive in a V12V, it's being delivered Friday.

A forum member got me seriously thinking about one again recently, and the Quantum Silver car at Grange Exeter fits my needs/budget. Will fill out the details on the V12V register with the required photos when I have it.

Quite excited...

I have a Winter tyre query though. I know the official wheel and tyre combo is a different size to the Summer ones, but looking online it seems the Pirelli SottoZero is actually available in the same size as the regular wheels. Anyone put these on? Am I missing something that makes it a bad option for the Winter?

  • Gonig to buy? That'll be going, but seeing as you can't edit the thread title it'll stay like that. What can I say, I little over excited perhaps!

laugh most expensive "I'll just see" ever biggrin

Re Winter tyres, smaller footprint = better grip on the slippery stuff - e.g. more weight per sq in of tyre.

I knew it was going to happen wink

It's not that much smaller though. Is it £1000 ish vs £3800 of difference?

The foot print is not much smaller - the rears are still 275s.

On the topic of "you try, you buy", it happened exactly as scripted for me with the V12V, but I drove the S yesterday at Silverstone and, impressive though it is, I'm sticking with my manual V12V.

Well, at the moment I'm slightly terrified of it (in a wonderful way) with the 510bhp, but as a BR convert with my V8V, if further down the line it needs some, um pepping up, then I'll probably do that. S looks lovely, but budget and not being my preference of a manual, it didn't come into my equation.

Trying to pretend at least to myself that I can get some work done this week. Think my staff already know I'm not though...

Congratulations!!! Job done, nowhere else to go now other than BR if you feel you cannot scare yourself enough with 510 bhp and more torque than a torquey thing with added torquiness biggrin

It's amazing how much of a pull that car has... peeps on here are absolutely right, don't drive it unless you're prepared to buy it. I've now driven one and am in big trouble... huge!!

Nicely done, Quantum is a great colour for the V12V, especially in the sun when the brown fleck comes through also. Funny how it is called silver though confused I always said mine was grey hehe
