I would be interested in some explanations from our Forum accountancy friends.

The increased financial losses in 2012 have received an airing, but the various facts available, create a very confused picture (for me).

I can see that the parent company in the group structure, seems to be ASTON MARTIN HOLDINGS (UK) LIMITED. There are two subsidiaries, one of which has a further three subsidiaries.

Some of the (year to 31st December) 2012 figures were announced months ago, on 11th April 2013. Q4 Revenue up 20%; Full year adjusted EBITDA £69.3m; Retail volumes circa 3,800.

Is the reason for the publicity now (6 months after the original announcement), because the full accounts have now become available from Companies House?

The figures quoted by various long established publications vary considerably.

One broadsheet laughably says the unit sales in 2012 were 67,500 down from 110,000 in 2007. Perhaps it is a case of "Send 3 (shillings) and 4 pence, we are going to a dance". smile

Autocar: Pre-tax losses = £21·2 m
Post-tax losses = £24.9m

Guardian: Adjusted Pre-tax losses = £24·6m (2011 £21·2m)
Charge to scrap Cygnet = £8·5m
Retail volumes 3,800 (2011 4,200)

FT: Revenue: = £461.2m (-9%)
Pre-tax Profit = -£34.1m (2011 -£33.1m)

I wonder if the payment to end the overseas Rapide manufacturing contract, might also have been in the 2012 accounts?

Would anyone like to clarify, expand, or add 'meat to the bone'?

(To General Gassing contributors, sorry you really ought to be an AM enthusiast for this Topic).

Where I got my figures from
http://www.standard.co.uk/business/business-news/s...

The Rapide production was moved at least 2 years ago back to Gaydon so wouldn't expect any charges to still be in the 2012 accounts.
