And picked up a new(ish) DB9.2

After reading lots of threads about recent QA issues, I was a little dubious but I sold my baby V8VR (only 7 months ownership) with an agreed value last week over the phone and sorted out a price on an ex-demo 9 which I hadn’t seen or driven with the proviso that the service dept made it better than it was new.

Got off the plane after a really heavy weekend in Ibiza and straight to the dealership to sign the papers and exchange the keys.

Best decision I have made. Very different to the V8 – quite a lot bigger than I was expecting and not as tight around corners, but suits my driving needs much more. GT with ability to be a sports car as opposed to the other way around.

The over run from the exhaust is just addictive and sophisticated. Huge smiles, and lots of adorning onlookers. Amazed to have it parked outside the pub yesterday with so many people stopping to take a close look.

As regards to the quality so far… the small improvements to the interior over a 4 year gap is not leaps and bounds, but significant enough to make the environment around me much more enjoyable – switchgear/trip computer etc…. Why they didn’t push the boat out more with the satnav though is beyond me – opportunity missed again. All in all, there is nothing thats cropped up in the last week and 400 miles that has made me regret my decision.

Aside from that and squeaky brakes in slow traffic (to be sorted very soon), everything is amazing. When the weather is a little better, will post some pictures – cause I know it’s the law!

She is my daily driver – so winter tyres soon. And then when I am used to the 510 horses and spring is in the air, I will be heading back to BR for a little more.

Betting blind was risky, but paid off very nicely. woohoo

What was the year and spec of the vantage?? If you don't mind me asking did you get a fair trade in price. Pm me if you like but as I am searching for a car it would be great to know what dealers are picking them up for.

Having had tempest blue/sandstorm, I was ok to go for something more conventional even though I love my light interiors: coupe, quantum silver and suicide black. The colour in different lights changes, from a lightish primer paint to a dusky black. And because of the huge amount of glass surrounding the cockpit, it never feels overly dark inside. I'm loving it basically.

It has a couple of things I haven't seen before like leather roof lining. Came fitted with a reverse camera too which has made parking in London so much easier. Am thinking of fitting a front one as well.

Bentley - it swings and roundabouts when px-exing, but when offering to pay what I consider fair for mine, it did help sweeten the deal on top of the negotiated price of the 9. Whoever becomes the luck owner of my previous vantage, will no doubt love it as much as I did - just not for London driving. Had new BR clutch, glass switches, exhaust bypass switch, new brakes and tires all in the last few months.

Pics coming this week!

Just wondering if the V8 was my old car. Where is it now up for sale?
There cannot be many Tempest with blue/sand knocking about so i seems likely

Not sure where she is being listed, couldnt find it on any of the usual sites. But if she was yours previously, I may have a couple of your CDs that came with her. Best of RnB 2012, Eminem, and RnB hits 2012.

She was a great car, 12k on the clock when I picked her up and first registered at Park Lane.

better late than never - broke the cardinal rule of this forum - so making good with some pics. After a 4 hour drive and lots of rain, I managed to finally get a couple of snaps. She will definitely be getting a good clean later this evening. And then some proper pictures to follow!

Hash your car looks fantastic. Half the fun of getting it dirty is so that you can wash it afterwards.

I am very happy Bin!!
For the first time ever in my 8 months with the brand, not once in the last few weeks have I felt that anything was below par. Extremely well built - the only gripe being a little wind noise at motorway speeds - but a simple tweak of the seals I'm sure.

Virage inspired - but so much better in every way biggrin
