Aston Martin Vantage S - Changing Gear
Discussion
D is the automatic mode, so no need to use the flappy paddles
But frankly i only use D when either in traffic jams or cruising on the motorway
Other than that you can override the auto by using the paddles. It gives you the advantage of being able to hold the car in gear (these cars are a lot of fun/make a great noise in 2nd/3rd through tunnels). Not quite as satisfying as a full manual perhaps, albeit the gearchanges are a lot faster than i could do with a manual
Seems thats the way all cars are going now. Suspect my kids will laugh at the idea of a manual gearbox when they come to learn to drive
