Just wondering what people use on their seats to keep the leather good? I bought some Autoglym Leather Care Balm & Autoglym Leather Cleaner recently, might have a go with it at the weekend - any experiences of using it?

Autoglym leather care used on my drivers seat just after I got the car and this happened:

Previous owner must have had worn trousers with metal button or the like which had scratched the outer lower bolster on the seat when getting into car. It had then had some sort of black spray on concealer applied, presume either by owner prior to sale or dealer. The autoglym rubbed it off to reveal damage frown Apparently it's a regular area for damage like this.

Now have to sort out repair. I did complain to the dealer and they've agreed to pay for it smile

So it you haven't had car from new and haven't cleaned leather before just have a good look at seats first!

When did you last use leather cleaner!

I've use Gliptone once on both my cars
Not bothered since as I was advised the AM leather on the Vantages is a grade that doesn't benefit from the oils in a leather cleaner so I've just stuck to a very dilute APC
May be different on the posh cars wink

Did Karen's X5, matey - Nevada leather only but it came up a treat yes

Used the Z9 Cleaner then left for a day and applied the Z10 Conditioner. Not as smelly as I imagined and I still have half a bottle of each left smile

For the TVR with its modern leather surface I prefer to use AGLCB with the occasional application of AGLC applied with a DS. For the classic Aston I prefer GTLL which I apply with a SC and leave 24/1 before buffing off with an MFC. biggrin

Rich what are you talking about, will GCHQ know? Oh I see. I'm a little slow on the uptake.

I have used the Autoglym and found it to be very chalky and leaving a nasty white residue on the leather.(Pretty sure thats all it was!!!)

My choice now is Maguiars leather CLEANER and then followed by Lord Sheriden leather cream tofeed and condition after (available from large supermarkets).

I use both treatments on the cars as well as the 3-piece suite.

I use zaino z-9 or Dr leather leather cleaner. There is no need to use a conditioner, though it's ok if you wanted to add a bit more of a leather smell.

Autoglym is rubbish and gliptone smells of wee and old people.

How odd, I've been using for 14 years on my Griff's interior which is dark green and tan and never experienced that. It should be a cream which simply wipes on and disappears into the leather.

Until my last batch, I would have agreed with you. I think they are now using a new formulation and it is absolute crap.

My daughter ended up spending about 6 hours trying to clean it off her black leather interior after it looked like she had some sort of orgy in her car. She was most distressed, especially as I gave her the Autoglym to use!!
