Well, the car went into HWM Aston Martin Walton to have the failed passenger side half of the heated screen checked-out. It was clear (pun intended) that the screen had a problem because the drivers side clears perfectly, but only about 2% of the elements in the passenger side heat.

There could have been a wiring/power issue if none of the NS elements heated but with some working, it will be the screen. HWM agree, but AM still have to send an engineer to inspect it and authorise the replacement. I specified NO AUTOGLASS MONKEYS to touch the car so a genuine screen has been ordered.

Hope to get the car back for Friday all being well.

I think the reason for the AM engineer is to stop owners claiming a screen under warranty for the sake of minor damage. I am good with that.

Hopefully when I get it back it will be all bolted up properly, unlike last time following service (NOT HWM) and I can continue to enjoy it, and get the coil-overs installed in my workshop.

Will keep y'all posted.

You can only get genuine screens - even through Autoglass / National Windscreens. They have to special order them in from Aston.

They can be supplied directly by Pilkington, who presumably supply AM directly although buying direct will not have the AM logo etched-in.

So you would effectively cut out a couple of middlemen and still get a "genuine" screen.
