My DB9's driver side door has decided to lose all electrics. I have have no power windows (swtiches don't work) and can't adjust mirrors either. Have also noticed there is no puddle light! Any ideas gents?

Plug has probably worked loose under the rubber boot in the A pillar, for all those things to stop working I'd guess its more than 1 wire.

Possibly the fuse on the passenger side floor, plate/cover has to be removed...under the carpet...

I would have thought all those circuits would have separate fuse protection, so unlikely they all blew at the same time.

I would agree to check the wiring connection to the door loom, and then, if thats ok, remove the door panel (5 minute job) and check the power supply to the door module.

I am assuming no work has been done involving that door at all recently?

Thanks chaps. No nothing to that door specifically but I did have a tracker fitted 2 days back! The chap took the power supply from behind the rear seats as that's where the battery is located but he did nothing to the door.

I have now also noticed that I can't lock the door with the remote fob! I need to use the key to lock and unlock the door.

I wouldn't have thought the tracker would affect anything, if it had been an alarm then maybe, but not a tracker.

Its more likely to be water in a connection with the wet we have had recently.

If the door electrics have failed, the blipper won't lock the car as the door is still open.

Update: Tracker man just came out - opened up the fuse box under the passenger side carpet checked fuse no.83 it was working. Then pulled it out and put it back in and hey presto the power to the door returned! WTF happened and why I don't know but I hope it does not happen again smile

Sounds like the fuse removal & replacement 'reset' the [door?] module.

Not to alarm anyone, but I did some 'realtime programming' on a project a few years ago - one of the other engineers that used the RTOS had done some work on ABS systems. I asked him about software glitches on such sensitive equipment - his answer was 'we just make sure it reboots very very quickly' !!

I concur with that. That is the circuit that fuse 83 officially covers.

Removing and reinstalling the fuse has reset the door module.
