HI
I have just changed my Iphone for a Samsung Galaxy 4S Mini all was going well until I tried to pair it to my 07 model V8 Vantage smile
Does anyone know if they are compatible and is there an alternative way to pair them?

Regards

Stupid question - but what's the problem? My galaxy IIIS running 4.1.2 Android. Connects fine. Often have to re-boot the phone when I get in the phone, even though its already paired.

The problem is when you try to pair the phone as soon as the phone asks for the pin and you enter it
the bluetooth then says pairing failed !!

There is a counter intuitive way to do it that I can't remember. Something resulting by my imbibing of Malbec, but I need to figure it out tomorrow with my work phone. Will post the process if I figure it out before anyone else

There is a well known problem with the Galaxy S models running Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 apparently all was well until this update but they did something that made it a bit iffy as regards bluetooth. The problems include difficulty in streaming over bluetooth and connecting or pairing. Samsung are well aware and are supposed to be releasing a fix as part of the next update 4.3.

My own connects to my car phone but won't link up the address book at all unless I do it manually. Also it randomly fails to connect to the tracker meaning I have to reboot the damned phone usually after I've had the text from Euro Tracker.

4.3 was released this week apparently but has been withdrawn after knacking some peoples phones. Looks like we have to wait a bit before we get a working bluetooth connection!

As Steve said, its a problem at the moment with Samsung, did work well until the last update. Are you getting the phone to see the car and inputting the code?

If you are getting that far, re-boot the phone, and whilst it is starting up start the bluetooth process on the car - get it looking for devices.

I am having to re-boot the phone when I first get in the car.

Galaxy S4 works just fine for me running 4.2.2

I don't use it for the tracker though would be just my luck to run out of battery

OK, no need to re boot the phone, just turn the phones Bluetooth off for a couple of seconds.

Sorry Pete really fed up with iPhone's constantly needing charging and updates which don't work and then to cap it all they are useless at making phone calls!!

To Neel1300R thank you so much for your help will give it ago later today so fingers crossed!

Hi

Sorry to resurect this but does anyone have an update re improvements or work arounds. I have just got a Samsung Galaxy Fame which I can pair after going through a 'pair from the phone' option on the info centre. The next time I get in the car the Bluetooth does not connect. If I look at the phone it thinks it is paired but the car does not. Nothing I can do appears to re connect it other than removing and manually re pairing again.

Has the method of just turning the BTooth off and on again on the phone worked for people in this instance?

Many thanks for any advice
Mark

What android is it running? My Galaxy S 3 has been fine since updating to Android 4.3. Have you checked the phone forums relevant for your phone, chances are it's the phone rather than the car.

Hi

Thanks for quick response. It is running Android 4.1.2

I will hunt around for some more info unless anyone can help further.

I don't suspect the car as it worked ok on previous phone.
Mark

Edit

Looks like 4.1.2 is the up to date version for my phone. Mmmmmm back to the drawing board

If that's the latest version of Android your phone runs then it's a simple case of turn Bluetooth off on the phone then turn it back on. No need to go into settings just pull down from top of the home screen and you'll be able to turn on/ off Bluetooth from there. Takes a couple of seconds.
