Chris Harris says he prefers the DBS to the V12V quote the DBS is the better sorted car.
Havent heard that before.

I thought the guy who commented on a recent thread that Astons are embarrassingly slow was being silly, but compared to those other two cars, at the end of the video, the DBS does seem comically slow.

The other two only have at least another 100bhp so i wouldnt worry.
Y100 glad you enjoyed it.

It's a matter of personal taste. I much prefer the V12V as a driving experience. Harris has his views, but they are his alone.

If only V12V owners would finally admit that the only reason they own one, rather than a DBS, is because they are impoverished, then at least we could all finally agree that DBS is the far superior motorcar.

Those of us who bought V12Vs new had the option to buy a used DBS, but took the fun car instead.

+1
I looked at and test drove both a DBS and the V12V in 2009, when both were available new, and for me the V12V ticked the boxes I had more so than the DBS. Each to his own.

I bought my first Aston in July of last year then part exchanged that for a brand new V12V in March. Later in the summer I treated myself to a mint DB7 Volante to keep the V12 company. Funny, not once have I felt impoverished. The DBS is superb and I could have bought a used manual and saved a small fortune, but chose the V12 instead. Why? Well it was my choice. Impoverished? No. Lucky to be in a position to have the choice? You bet.

Problem is, i do no think Harris drove the old v12v extensively. He never did a proper test drive of one. Not even the new one. He tends to love cars with a soul. The v12v clearly is more the drivers car.... Let's wait and see if and when he drives the v12v s.

He's hardly spent any time in them to judge from published work.

Exactly, the only time he drove a v12v was in a group comparison with many other cars when he was still at Evo a few years back. Hardly anything was written on it.

Bearing in mind the kind of cars he likes (911's of all vintage), compact and sporty stuff, i struggle to see how he can't like a v12v. I would be surprised if he was not going to do a piece on v12v 's' at some point.

Its been a few years since I drove the v12v but from memory there is actually little difference between the dbs and v12v in the way they drive for everyday use, they have the same engine, gearbox and brakes so that feels the same.
the difference was in the handling and size, the v12 v is more nimble due to its size ,and a touch more focused ,but I actually prefered the dbs handling wise as it is not as unforgiving as the v12v,the longer wheelbase allows you a bit more time to sort stuff out if it goes sideways .

personally the dbs is the better looking car as well.
