A week or so back I put a post up regarding the passenger side brake light (and reverse light and half the side light) failing and a conclusion was drawn that this was probably due to condensation in the cluster. Since then I have purchased another cluster only to find when fitting it that it too had the same issue.

So I was wondering if anybody knows of another reason (fuse perhaps) that would cause this to fail? Simialrly if not does anybody have a circuit diagram or can identify each of the pins on the connect so I can try and troubleshoot the problem.

Many Thanks

Chris

Where did you buy replacement....if a reputable dealer take it back , if not could well be another dodgy unit.....check to see if you have bent any of the connector pins...if not try new connectors....readily available from Maplins or Rs...

I am checking this out as I believe that there may be a common controller somewhere for the LED's.I am borrowing another rear cluster this PM very kindly offered by another PH'r.As I have the diagonally opp. front also playing up ---fault occuring at the same time, it seems a bit of a coincidence! There was an old post suggesting this but it never expanded. I have a 'free' winter check this week with the dealer so I will see if I can glean some info from the mechanic & report back.

It lives! Grange motors have sorted my light . It was a faulty rear cluster & they have provided me with a s/h unit at a VERY favourable price. Must complement them on a professional service & the tea & mince pies were great! They couldn't get the 2 borrowed units to work, as I couldn't--very odd. They were surprised that the rear fault had affected the front having never seen that before.Health check on the car was good as well. All in all a satisfactory morning!smile

Thanks for the replies, I did purchase a second hand unit but it was strange that exactly the same lights within the cluster had failed in the "new" unit as the old one. Have aquired a circuit diagram so will check all the inputs tomorrow and hopefully its just a case of getting a refund from eBay and stumping up the cash for the new one.

A little mystified on my spare lights not working, maybe due to being off an earlier car a 55 plate DB9 - can anyone confirm that?? I replaced with clear only because I Wanted clear not due to any issue with these originals...

The early cars were supposed to need a flash upgrade to get the clear lights to work with them. Although some people say they didn't.
