Hi all,
I am due to collect a new V8V manual later this month which will be my first Aston - I'm very, very excited!

I have a few questions which I'm sure will seem a bit "basic" but I would appreciate any advice.

1.I have asked the dealer to take out fuse 22 - or is it 15 now - but if they refuse how is it done as I understand that there are 2 fuse boxes and I don't want to take the wrong one out?
2.I assume that I should use higher octane fuels e.g.shell optimax or whatever it's called these days - am I right?
3.Is there a recommended "running in " process I should follow?
4.I'll have the cobra tracker activated and have heard of some issues with false alarms - any advice about avoiding them and it's use would be welcome.
5.Anything else to look out for/be aware of?

To comply with the rules I promise to put some photos up!

Many thanks.

It's been fuse 15 in the boot since MY12 cars, if its a coupe drop the parcel shelf in to the boot floor as well wink
RON rating makes little or no difference on the V8
I ran mine in by not redlining it and not labouring it for 1k miles, the V8 is pretty good and doesn't really need an running in wink
It's not a Cobra tracker on the newer cars, get it tagged to a bluetooth phone rather than the fobs, only false alarms I get is when the phone doesn't have signal, so it doesn't link to Eurowatch before I start it.
I have to say Eurowatch have been excellent with my current S, if it misses a status report they call to check, if anything out of the ordinary happens they call.
If it's new seriously consider paint film to stop stone chips
Watch out for brake squeal wink
If its manual avoid reversing up inclines
Get a glass key cover they break when dropped
You MUST post pictures or you WILL get banned wink

Its always humbling when people will put themselves out there in such a way for charity which then leaves them open for eternal ridicule.................;)

Or was it simply a questionable decision the dirty sanchez rather than Movember as it doesn't explain the sideburns.....

I detect a vague resemblance to Mr De Niro in there...

(that's meant to be a compliment! ;-) )

Always gets me singing, does that pic, altogether now......

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys ...

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel...

Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you got to know this one thing!

No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A.
I'm sure they can help you today.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys...

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the blues.
I felt no man cared if I were alive.
I felt the whole world was so jive ...

That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, take a walk up the street.
There's a place there called the Y.M.C.A.
They can start you back on your way.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys...

Y.M.C.A....you'll find it at the Y.M.C.A.

Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

Y.M.C.A....you'll find it at the Y.M.C.A.

Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

Y.M.C.A....just go to the Y.M.C.A.

Young man, young man, are you listening to me?
Young man, young man, what do you wanna be?

Sorry OP, looking forwards to seeing your new car, just don't let the lunatics in the asylum bother you - they are certifiable.

Hang on Mikey -isn't the rule that if you live in or near Wales (like what you & I do) you have to organise a Welsh run-out to show off to the unfortunates from other regions just what they are missing scratchchinbiggrin

Welcome aboard and we look forward to the pics smile

Yeah, you just can't escape Bins and his whiskers at the moment. I hear he's almost as big a gay icon these days as Tom Daley hehe
