I am purchasing a 2013 V8 vantage and want to look at recommendations for aftermarket exhausts. I see that quicksilver & RSC seem to be the most common. Looking for something to produce the classic aston sound rather than go deaf on long trips. Quicksilver super sport seems like a good sound while searching on YouTube, "plus" probably too much. I have also read some good reviews on RSC. I realize a lot of this is down to personal taste but would love feedback on either brands or recommendations from "fellow" Aston owners?

2ndary decat pipes and pull fuse 22/15 should be more than enough. Do a search with v12v in..

the classic sound is what you get when you remove the fuse that enables the car to pass regulatory requirements ...anything else is aftermarket ? wink

why not just drill some holes in the OE exhaust ? depending on the size of the holes, you can make it sound just how you prefer.....

There's always the Larini option if you want to add some extra bark and volume.

If you are after gains forget the back box
You need to look at changing the header and middle set of 200 cell cats
These guys offer a few options depending on budget and requirements

Thanks for the feedback. If going the direction of fuse 22, which sounds "too easy" produces the desired effect then why do so many Astons have the aftermarket options? Is money just burning a hole in their pocket.......sorry not knocking your answers, just playing devils advocate.....:-)

Removal of said fuse certainly produces a good effect if you could achieve the same bass sound with a little more volume then it would be better. Some will want it noisier some will want more power you pay your money and make your choice.
The fuse removal works well but if left out the flaps will seize up so a remote control of the flaps dependant on mood is possibly a good way to go, something I am looking into anyway.

I totally agree with Mikey, bolting on a different back box will make little or no difference at all to performance. The restriction lies with the OE manifolds . To unleash your cars tethered ponies you need Bamford. Rose manifolds de chatting then the fitting of 200 cell race cats . You retain your standard silencer. Upto 40 horsepower will be released ! It will sound fantastic but you will also have a stealth mode. Give Mike at BR a ring, you won't regret it. wink

It's Fuse 15 in the boot on a 2013 car
The newer cars have a MUCH better exhaust tone so tend to get changed for extra ponies
The pre MY12.25 cars were too quiet so many change those to get more noise
IMHO if you are going to change it (especially on a late car) go for something that does give more points
Have a listen to Rob & Mollies S as "Pearl" is the same MY with the Bamford Rose kit on it

The V8V should do that exceedingly well.

Has anyone had issues with check engine lights staying on after removing fuse 15 on a 2013 model or later?

I think the S is meant to have a sports exhaust and the Sport button is also said to change the exhaust a bit - I can't seem to find anything that says whether the fuse trick also works on the S and/or weather the Sport button does the same thing anyway. Any ideas?

Like we have said - the S starts with the valves open (no vac), with the button off valves open ~3.5k rpm, with the button on the valves are always open and the throttle map changes.
I have fuse 15 pulled on mine so it makes a great noise ALL the time wink
