Thought I'd post this for general interest.

The tracker packed up on my MY2008 V8V. Aston Martin replaced it FOC, with a new system from Cobra - it has much smaller tags, and you can replace the batteries yourself. I don't know if you can pair it with a phone, I haven't asked. It is also a different operator from Eurowatch, (Cobra in fact...) and seems a lot more user friendly eg you can turn off the fobs to preserve battery life. I'm guessing they are fitting this system to new cars now.

Anyway, my main point is a big thumbs up to Aston - my car hasn't had a warranty since the original one expired so I was quite surprised I didn't have to pay for this - the pro-forma invoice they kindly gave me was for £1600! I didn't even have to complain either - when it stopped working, they just got me in the garage, no questions asked. Possible it is covered as part of the annual subscription but even so, always nice to get great service!

If it's the new system you can pair with a mobile phone although you have to rung them (cobra) from the car with the phone handy. I will do this soon as I've already had one false alarm Shen I forgot the fob!
