Hi tried finding previous posts but couldn't find anything so apologies if a repeat...

Anyhows with the recent cold weather my wing/door mirror glass decided to remove itself and bugger off somewhere else without the rest of the car...so I got a quote for a replacement mirror and it came back a staggering £64! is this right just for the glass piece?

BTW will post a picture (as seems the norm) once I figured how to smile

Hello smile I may be completely imagining this but I think the mirror glass on a 2006 V8V is a Volvo part ... someone else more knowledgeable might be able to help you further!

I can't help you with the V8V but when I updated my wing mirrors on my DB9 to the ~2007 mirrors (sleeker than originals - they are now larger again due to EU regs I believe), I paid £10-15 for each one - heated and convex - on eBay by purchasing Volvo S60/V70/S80 2003-2007 mirror glass.

I can't quite remember my process to find out the part numbers but I do remember looking very closely at most Volvos I walked past in London for a few months, then ordering the first piece when I was 75% confident.
