The DVD player in the back, for the satnav?
Go on then, what have you done?
Thought I would use my update disks I bought earlier.Go on then, what have you done?
Pushed Disk 1 over the player rather than in it I was trying to find the slot so to speak

Can't remove the subwoofer so I will have to buy the disks again!!
What a stupid place to put the player ffs

Indeed tricky that, in the dark, you can easily slide a disc OVER the player, instead of inside the slot......pity, I assume you tried to retrieve the looe disc with some soft(!) pin or something? That must be doable I think?
If you google on Replace DB9 Navigation unit (or replace Volvo Navigation unit) you will find several pics (it seems the laser can get old and stops working, and then it can be replaced).

Slid a knife over the top of player and can't feel it I assume it's gone behind it.If you google on Replace DB9 Navigation unit (or replace Volvo Navigation unit) you will find several pics (it seems the laser can get old and stops working, and then it can be replaced).
Managed to get another disc £20 so not the end of the world .

Well...I am not kidding..this is how I removed mine having done exactly the same thing..gently get the vehicle up to a reasonable speed and brake very hard it should shoot out...accelerate not to rapid as this will jam the DVD right at back of the seat.
I know it sounds odd but it does work.

Where in the boot is the DVD player? I looked yesterday in my 07 V8V and could not see it.
Left hand side removeable carpet trim under the boot light. Pull the tab and it exposes the DVD drive. To change or update discs, drop the DVD drive cover down, exposes slot.

I bought another disk 1 and its now upgraded successfully.
It does ask for disc 1 to be inserted to work is this normal?
Its not the official AM version a back up disc from satnav updates.
Oh and it now has proper postcode search ive not used it on the road yet so I don't know if it has other extras.
Cheers

In my old DB9 the disc had to be in permanently and I even sold it on with the disc inside. I'm assuming you will get a slightly newer map on the update.
Surely the £25 Sat nav update cannot be the same as the official £340 one !!!!!
