Yes the day has finally arrived. Picked up this morning by my local AM Dealers driver, Into the dealers to get my V8V and guess who forgot to take any photos, due to too much excitement upon seeing my car (d...head or what). A nice clear day up here and not too cold for a change. The car was gleaming(to my untrained eye) and l could, nt wait to get in and drive away. The shape just blows me away and the sound is a joy to the ears. Back home and on the drive 4 mins and neighbours were out calling me names. I don, t understand, have l done something wrong? The only downside is the Vantage goes on the drive but coming off,the front spoiler is hitting the ramp coming off.So until l get a solution its outside the house half on half off the pavement. Totally awesome car.Worth the wait

Congratulations on getting the car Deano!

As to the neighbours calling you names - well what do they usually call you and was this any improvement? Those of us who haven't met you can't really judge wink

I do hope they were inky shouting jokey comments. At the end of the day, you have a gorgeous car, I wouldn't worry about it.

Congratulations Deano, glad to see that you have left the fatherland and found the motherland so much more rewarding!
Do you live in a German Getto?

Sounds like you have a neighbourhood/vehicle imbalance OP. I hope your new P and J doesn't end up getting vandalised by some jealous morons!

Ha ha. It was the type of name calling which starts with B.....d and ends with "You lucky". Many people slowing down to have a look as they drive past my house. Yes I have returned to the Motherland but the Fatherland is staying at least for a couple of years. Its such a excellent car but the looks of the Vantage just blow me away. I, m off to sit in it soon to have a good look at the manual and have a good fiddle about. If and when l find out how to post photos I, ll put some on. P.s I have no Aryan blood in me, I, m pure Northumbrian ha ha. Cheers Deano

Looking forward to the photos and congrats on joining the club, sounds like you have become a local celeb overnight.. smile. Silly point but have you tried reversing the car onto the drive instead?

To paraphrase Greg Norman. "That's strange, the more effective I am at work the luckier I get"

Car going back in Monday as emissions systems light has come on .Dealer says this is a common fault when the car stands for a long time without being started for a while. Car had full service? Wednesday before l picked it up. Should this not have been noticed? Cheers

Well I'm not long a convert from TVR's but back then I used to get told "They all do that sir" or was it you cur, anyway I understand that the emissions warning is a common one and can affect cars that have stood for a while and then started to be used again.
I am sure they will sort it and it should only be a minor inconvenience and then you can get back to enjoting the new toy again.
