DB 7 GTA SHOULD I TAKE THE PLUNGE ?
Discussion
I have hankered after one of these for ages.
I really like the colour combination of Black & cream.
I believe the GTA has a number of significant modifications and as a result is better to drive.
I have seen this one advertised on line;

Does anyone know the car or anything about the dealer?
Is there anything I should look out for?
Any contributions would be gratefully received.

I love my 7, but definitely a very different drive to any Gaydon car. You'll feel compelled to wearing a cravat and behaving like a complete bounder when you're out, but wax up your mustache and go for it.
Have Chiltern Aston take a look at it first - you need to get the car up in the air as some vulnerable spots are not obvious, even though it's quite a late, low mileage car. Not as expensive as you'd think to put things straight, either.
Loads of info on the AMOC site and good 7's are definitely holding their own right now. More than happy to have a chat if you want to PM me.

I had a DB7 GTA before the DB9. there are a few little quirks (common to all DB7's) but I loved mine. Only really swapped because I wanted a convertible.
Edited to add: that's pretty much what I paid for mine 4 years ago so they've held their value pretty well compared to others in the range.

Obviously, at this level you could have a V8 Vantage or a DB9, against that you have a rare and desirable version of the car you particularly want. All things considered I would suggest that you go for it.
Have you driven one? There is not a lot of room for taller drivers. I would also recommend all of the precautionary checks suggested by others.

I wonder if that is a recon engine?
Reason being the engine number is waaaaaay higher than the original runs displayed. My GT 2003 has a 3 digit engine number, as have others I have seen.
Might be worth a question as to the service history. Although engine numbers ran concurrently across most models, they certainly didn't put out 4,000 engines within a year.
Numbers can be misleading though. It could simply be a replacement badge ????

Well that throws a curve ball into Aston's engine's numbering hmmm..
I guess the only explanation is the numbering split across db7's, GT's, GTA's, DB9's and Vanquish might allow those numbers but without build quota data to compare it's just a guess.
Glad to hear it's original though :-)
GTA's are great cars if you don't want to exceed 165mph during track days and airstrip runs, etc.
