Hi

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as an anti kink hose for a Karcher pressure washer? If so anyone with practical experience who can feed back if they are better than the standard one.
An internet search reveals some proposing anti kink but recommendations are always better.

Thanks
Mark

Sorry to say this , buy a Stihl. Their products are a lot more serious. I find on a sunny Sunday afternoon whilst pressure washing my Aston my pipe can become a little twisted. I summon Molly who is a font of knowledge on all subjects sacred. She usually declares that I have succumbed to red wine exposure and puts the love of my life back in garage . Seriously though buy a Stihl product which is less likely to be designed for the casual user and will not have a short length substandard hose.

After you have purchased a new Stihl, you might want to have it improved.

There is a firm in Warwickshire (I thought Rob would have mentioned them), who should be able to make it much better for you.

Not allowed to mention the name - forum rules.

They might even be able to fit a twin plate anti-kink Stihl hose, to your Karcher. Beware though, because I hear that you go in for a modified hose, and before you know what has happened, you have agreed to switchable squirting, adjustable nozzles and a more powerful motor.

Do you mean kinking as in almost stopping the flow of water? I've a few Karcher ones here and they've never done that? All they do it try to coil up now and again. They seem quite rigid in construction so not sure how they'd kink?

My "old" Karcher had a decently long, thick-walled hose that never kinked. My current one which I got several years ago has a much thinner walled hose (and annoyingly a shorter one) and I do find it often kinks. I've still got the old hose but the fittings are different otherwise I'd have swapped it onto the newer washer.

So yes - the poorer quality hoses do kink - but I've never found a superior hose that fits. I haven't looked for a while so perhaps I should try again. Or maybe it'd be easier just to get a "better" pressure washer!

Maybe didn't explain too well. There is no real fear of pipe doubling over to stop water flow it is more that especially in cold weather the pipe is too rigid and coils too much. There is a real fear of dragging it down the side of the car rather than it lying flat on the floor.

Thanks for the input so far. May talk to Bamford about coil removal and introducing flat spots.

When I bought my Nilfisk I found the cheaper ones had a multilayer all plastic hose which gets stiffer when cold and has a "memory" of how it was coiled
I went for one that has a metal weave reinforcement instead, better but still a hand full in the cold.
You can buy an end connector that will rotate continually to allow you to "unwind" it as you go.

Thanks Mikey. Maybe the swivel end connectors would help as rotation at gun end appears as though it should work with the c connector but does not.
I will investigate that but if anyone has any quick links to such a connector please post them up.
Thanks
Mark

P.s. given the weather I wont be rushing out to use it.

There are some decent rubber replacement ones on ebay mate - more like airline hoses you see in garages.
