Hi all,

Just wanted to ask where the best place to sell a left hand drive Vanquish is in Europe? I am trying Autoscout as I know that one. I have tried pistonheads in the past of course, however it does tend to be mainly UK. Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Aye, have it advertised in Dubai too. Just broadens the reach a bit. Aston aren't that big in dubai yet, although with the establishment of their new showrooms they are getting bigger no doubt I think the dudubai showroom now sells more than all others in the world.

The trouble with selling here in Dubai is that all the 'punters' think used/older cars have no value and they make ridiculously low offers; for instance, the definition of 'good condition' is usually (and completely) related to low km - the car may be covered in dents, scratches and a dirty, damaged interior, but so long as the odometer reads below the 'market average for the year' it will be labelled as 'in good condition'. Similarly, a well looked after and well presented car with high-ish km, for the year, will be subject to any & every attempt to rubbish its value.

Even the nicest cars out here are considered to be no more than status symbol toys by the majority that can afford them, and they do not look after their toys once they get 'old'!

Very true mate, very true.

You can get some great value, excellent condition, low mileage cars here but they are few and far between. The great ones are lost in the mass of shoddy and poorly maintained ones. Still, hopefully the good ones shine through with people who know. Service History, the owner and condition usually shines through. Many other Vanquish in Dubai are shockers, I looked at many when I was looking for one before.

Additionally, when it comes to "Classics", people think that just because they are old they are "Classics" when in actual fact, many are sheds that have been poorly maintained, have been ragged and/or modified. Plenty of them about here.
