Got hold of a Volvo key recently and thought I'd have a nosey and see what the similarities and differences are between these and the older AM key...
AM key on the top/left.

The strangest thing to note is how the Volvo key is hacked at to make it become an AM key. Looks like someone's taken a Dremel to it!

Pretty sure there is a workstation and stool at the factory where that's done wink

I like the fob actually - nice a chunky smile

Got to admit - the upgrade to the Jaguar fob IS A MUST.

Bit of self adhesive Carbon fibre tape on the back to cover the Jaguar logo and you would never know. Did both of mine for £50.00 for the pair (courtesy of eBay).

How about change the Ford ignition and door key barrels to suit the Volvo, 5 button (flat blade) flip key. That would solve the fob issue.

All you'd then need to do, is stick your little Aston badge over the Volvo insignia: job done. Be great if it could be that simple...

No it hasn't, that flip key is the 4 button Jag one with the Ford flip blade. My suggestion is quite a different proposition altogether.

I always wondered what the switch on the bottom of the fob was for. It did nothing that I could discern.

It must make the designers at Aston feel really good, that they managed to design such a lovely car, the only thing owners worry about changing is the key fob smile
