About 10 years ago I promised to buy myself an Aston and had fallen in love with the then new Vantage. About all I could afford at the time was the silver keyring you see in the photo... For those 10 years it has served as my motivation to one day get hold of something just a little special. Can you spot the difference in the photos?????

And of course, having gained lots of tips from you all, I know the rules so photos attached but I need to do it more justice!!! The car comes from Cardiff (main dealer) and is an 08V8V manual, Meteorite. For those of you who know him, John was brilliant to deal with and the whole experience was first class. He patiently put up with my list of tweaks such that the car now carries clear lenses, N400 sills and a whole host of kit that we were able to agree on.

Am I happy... deliriously so!!!! Was I surprised when the tyre warning came on for a few moments on the drive home... not a bit - you have all prepared me well and it didn't detract at all! Did I have a stupid smile on my face as I pushed the revs?... of course I did. The sound is like an orchestra. Thank you by the way to all of you on the Forum; the banter is great and I have picked up a LOT of information.

Am I now worried and terrified... oh yes... I spent some time walking around the dealership and saw some cars that I would very much like to move to in the future!!! Oh dear, what have I done? Not a moment of regret and I can't quite believe that I finally have my dream sat on the drive.

Sod it, I'm off for another drive..... beer

Looks fantastic.
I bet you can't stop looking at it. That won't wear off either.
Best thing to do is fill up the tank again and go for another drive. Looks like a perfect day for a drive or 10.

Good for you! The other good news is that the smiling never seems to stop. The less good news is that you WILL want to upgrade. It's just a question of time..... And finding the money of course.
Enjoy

Great to hear of someone achieving a long held desire. Car looks lovely and I am sure you will enjoy the next ten years of ownership even if you don't enjoy the discomfort from the permanant smile.

Could be worse, all the R8 owners I bumped into were Dentists.

Car looks great - doesn't look like it needs Paddy (although I'm sure he'd not say no)

I knew I'd seen that plate before, it was casually mentioned by a JimboA in the Private Reg Ideas thread.

You love us all really. Remember three things about pilots: Big watches, big egos and they scream their own names when they ccensoredm!!!

Thanks one and all for the kind words and ribbing! Just to prove that I have picked up some tips along the way, here are a couple of things "I made earlier"! Most of you will recognise them...
