Vantage...v12 or v8?
Discussion
I'm hoping to try a Vantage of some description later this year...
I know little about these cars but I've already dismissed the earlier cars in favour of the later 4.7s
I am wanting to gauge what the main differences between the v8v and the v12v are?
I'm tempted to go for the v12 simply on the basis that it is the biggest and baddest vantage!
Mpg isn't a huge concern (currently got a c63 so I'm used to 13mpg!)
More interested in residuals and driving experience...
I'd be most interested to hear your experiences and comparisons of both cars

V8VS - as one well known car reviewer around here said, the best vantage by a country mile
Just beat me to it Jon

V12S is brand new on the market, and priced very competitively, so should be strong on residual value, barring the initial VAT burglary. As for used V12, it is already heading for cult status, and will be a future classic, especially as its probably the last V12 MANUAL supercar built by any manufacturer!
Many people who will say get the V8V have taken their cars to be modified by one independent or another so that they can get more performance, in some cases close to V12V performance but never quite there in most cases. So that will tell you something.
If you have the luxury of choice then get the biggest and baddest, aka the V12V, and be done

It is budget dependant, assuming coupe
At 60k a used 4.7, poss an n420
At 80k it's tricky.. A newish v8vs or an old v12
At 100k a v12 especially if you like a nose heavy car and using your left foot (so old school
The great thing about the vantage is there's one at every price point from below 40k to well over 100k

Its not actually "nose heavy". Everybody assumes it is, but the engine is so far back, that its a 50/50 car with the driver and a few pints of gas. The weight of the motor actually pushes the front tyres into the surface, and the car has virtually no understeer! Rare for a road car.At 60k a used 4.7, poss an n420
