Vantage S wheel fitment
Discussion
Hi all
I've gone and done something really stupid and bought a set of Vantage S wheels and tyres. The stupid part is I don't actually own a Vantage yet. I am currently looking for a 2007 Vantage in either Meteorite grey or Tungsten (anyone have one drop me a message) but am not a fan of the standard wheels and wanted to get a set of V12 or Vantage S wheels. Well just happens that a set came up for sale at such a good price I had to buy them. However I want to check on here if there is going to be any fitment issues as I know the V12 wheels cause problems? Also who would be best to fit the wheels when I get the car? Is it something kwik fit can do or should it be done by Aston etc?
Also the wheels don't come with the centre caps or nuts so can these be reused from the original wheels?
Thanks

I put Vantage S wheels on my 07 Vantage… It had wheel spacers on the rear too which IMO was too extreme. I loved the look. Make sure you high speed balance them and have the car aligned (that is if you ever find one!)… The other thing you should purchase would be the 200 cell cats as it really improves the performance of the car.

Super sticky tyres to enable it to park on the ceiling like that. There are a couple of small points to consider here, but first things first.
The Vantage S wheels are a straight replacement for the original 7 spoke 19" wheel
I recently fitted a new set to my 2007 V8VR.
The TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring sensors) on the old style alloys are different from the TPMS sensors on the newer cars.
As it happened the brand new Vantage S alloys I bought from AM Works Service just came with standard valves and new tyres which actually suited me since the newer TPMS sensors would not be compatible with the old system factory fitted to my car.
I disabled the TPMS system on my car so not to get a dash warning light (very easy to do from a post on this forum).
You could transfer the old sensors off the original wheels but they would be years old now and that is a bit risky as they are fragile and also are battery operated so have a limited life and it would also require the tyres to be removed and refitted again.
The TPMS sensors are circa £120 each and I personally was glad to get rid of them when you consider a valve costs circa 50% of a tyre.
The old wheel nuts and centre caps all can be fitted to the new alloys no problem, new centre caps are very reasonably priced at £45 a set in either graphite grey or silver depending on which Vantage S alloys you have bought

Thanks for all the replies chaps. Manwhoneverwas, your car looks really nice with the new wheels and some really useful info on fitment and some possible issues with sensors.
As for Aston martin bits website, I started looking on there first but ended up getting a set from Aston Martin Works for a really good price. They are due to be delivered on Friday so hopefully it will be the kick up the backside I need to finally get a Vantage as I am not sure they will look right on my GT40 replica.

Hi all
So my wheels arrived today. First impressions is they are very nice, to me much nicer looking than the early 7 spoke wheels. However I've got them in the garage and I can't tell if they are the graphite ones or silver. They are supposed to be graphite but but to me they look silver under the artificial light. Here are some pictures:

I was expecting them to be a little more grey in the centre. Maybe fitting something silver in the centre might help. Here is what they should look like

Graphite or silver?

OK pics from the back of the wheel. You can see from the back that they are a gloss grey colour. Not sure if this is the same on all Aston wheels. Also pic of the part numbers if that helps. I was told they came off a car from the showroom so most likely the most latest version that Aston offers
I also put something silver on the wheel lip to show the colour vs silver

Any thoughts, silver or grey?
