Hi all

I am looking at how easy it is to replace the front bumper on an 07 car to use the new style front bumper.

I've looked around for parts and seems there are options for bumpers with and without the front parking distance controllers. So the first question is should I get a bumper without the PDC as I am not bothered about it and assume it will make fitment easier?

Also having looked around it seems there are at least 3 parts to the bumper
  • Front bumper cover

  • Front splitter

  • Lower front grille
Is there anything else you need to replace the bumper and how easy is it? If anyone has an assembly diagram for the front bumper that would be really useful.

Thanks

Trevor

Did you get the quote from Aston? Can you remember what price you were quoted?

No reason you can't fit the front parking sensors, though that front splitter is v expensive in CF wink

I imagine that it's going to be lots.

DAE offer a similar kit. This includes front and rear bumpers though:

Rear Bumper Complete Assembly with diffuser in plastic
Inner Wheel Arch Liners & Front Undertray
Fixings

Price: £4,411.36 + VAT

PM Sent. My quote was not from Aston but an independent. Aston will undoubtedly charge a small fortune.

Thanks for the info and link to Curlyappleheads thread, really useful info. Will speak to DAE and to see what the cost of just the front bumper is.

Thanks

I looked at doing the same sort of thing on my Noble, i.e. changing the front to have the later lights. The cost was prohibitive, it would have been cheaper just to buy another car that had the later front/lights already.

Brilliant thanks Vince that's great. Your list doesn't contain a Front Undertray, or inner arch replacements. Did the car not require them?

Also is the price for the lip the carbon version?

For the carbon version: £2025
No change wheel arches!
This is the plastic versions. I did not want the carbon version because fear of breaking.

So that list of parts should be all I need then to fit a newer style front bumper?

Just reading the Chinese Carbon post (OYA). I'm sure I read somewhere that OYA will make copies of parts in carbon from an original. Would be interesting if someone has a broken front splitter which can be sent to them to (umm hum) fix wink . I'm sure it won't be anywhere near £2050 +VAT looking at there prices and others can buy from them if they also need that (umm hum) fix biggrin.

I just finished swapping my '13 front and rear bumpers for an '09 set and we had to swap the inner fender liners and the front tray also because the new bumpers have a different lower shape and will not fit the older set.

Thanks Tim. David Appleby also confirmed that liners and under tray need replacing with me yesterday. Any pictures of your cars transformation?
