The assumption is that the investment required to produce the video will help create sales and therefore more than pay for itself,,,in this case I'm not convinced. scratchchin

It is indeed almost naive, I agree. It reminds me of a similar AM video we saw not that long ago.

We went along to an evening launch event for the Vanquish at Lancaster Cambridge about 18 months ago. There was a huge screen set up at one end of the show room, curtains draped around, champagne and canapes, the mood of expectation high. A brief introduction from the dealership boss, the lights were lowered,,,all eyes turned to the screen,,,as the smoke machines billowed the surround sound boomed,,,and that, sadly, was as good as it got. Sorry AM but that video was an appalling failure if it was supposed to entice viewers to want to buy a Vanquish,,,it looked more like an introduction to a Brian Cox journey into space video. I could not have been alone at the end of the video in thinking, err, is that it,,,were was the car? No honest to g*d, I'm not a grumpy old man, they do indeed, as Mikey suggests, seem to be trying too hard. moan (sorry)

It's like they bought a new dictionary and a sound effects samples CD (this kind of thing: http://amzn.to/1gw1OXV ) and were really, really, REALLY keen to use them both.

Suspect the video is aimed at the middle and far east markets?

hehe they've been listening to the young "whips" at the marketing agency about "trending" with "social media" and "engaging" the younger buyer. It all looks a bit "play station" to me.

I hope you are right & that there is someone out there this will appeal to. Maybe us lot in the AM section of PH are not their target market (if we are then sadly it looks like they got it badly wrong) frown

Mmm. I was expecting to catch a glimpse of moustache and Rolex whilst the voiceover said, "Driving an Aston Martin is much like making love to a beautiful woman. You caress her curves, grip your gearknob purposefully, wiggle it about, jam it in repeatedly, feel the thrust as she pushes you back in your seat and finally park up knackered with an empty tank."
