Hi Guys I'm currently looking to purchase a Black V8 Vantage Roadster 4.3 - Ideally an 08 or 09, sub 20K mileage. My budget is £45,000 Inc. of AM warranty (it wont be a 4.7 unfortunately)

Now the question I have is that I see some cars marked as a VH2? Sorry for the nOOby question, but what is a VH2? I’ve purchased “The Definitive Guide” and can’t seem to find the answer to my question in there either.

Also if anyone is about to part with or knows of such a spec car coming on the market soon, please do let me know. There is one or two I have my eye on at the moment, but nothing that really makes me want to rush to the bank just yet.

Cheers

VH usually refers to the vertical horizontal platform that underpins most of the Gaydon cars . VH2 could be the 2 seat variant.

I've never seen it written down like that though

Hi Don,
There is a lot of information packed into the guide, so apologies if you couldn't track this down, but I hope you are finding it useful.

If you have one of the more recent editions you will find the details on page 221 under the full VIN decoding information, there is a box bottom right headed "Other identification information", which has Engine numbers, Paint Code, Restraint Type and.......

Other Internal VIN Codes: VH Platform Model - VH1: DB9 - VH2: Vantage - VH3: Vanquish - VH4: Rapide.smile

Edited to add.... VH3 also applies to the DBS, which is now out of production and its internal code was taken by the new Vanquish.
