Unless it's very minor you may need professional help with this. The poo is alkaline and as such eats its way into the clearcoat. Some gentle application of a mild abrasive polish may work, but you also stand a good chance of making a damaged area more obvious.

It will most likely need to be machine polished out to remove it fully. You could have a go with some of these off the shelf products like t-cut and the like, but you'll only make it worse. Especially on Aston paint.

Whatever you do, I wouldnt start with T-cut. Try a less abrasive polish such as a swirl remover on a microfibre cloth. Only get more aggressive (in terms of polish) if you have to. If you do, returm to a swirl remover to finish. Unless you have ignored the droppings for months, you should be able to fix this easily.

I have done a little more research on this interesting subject.
Thing is ,I washed the hardened poo off and this left a "stain" in the paintwork.
I tried some polish but that just gave me a polished stain.
I was reluctant to use an abrasive so sought help from you lot..
On the Poorboys website it appears that the poo remover is only to remove the poo and they are suggesting their World Professional Polish to remove the stain.
Any comments ?

From previous experience if the offending poo has been on the paintwork long enough and it has left a mark then unfortunately it will probably need a machine polish to get rid of it.
I always keep a detailing spray and a couple of microfibre cloths in the boot to get rid of it as soon as i notice it, god only knows what some birds eat to create the damage so quickly.

A stain from the bird lime is unusual, it is generally a slight indentation in the clear coat from erosion. I presume the poo was on there a fair while. I have found in the past that a good wax finish will protect the paint from this for a while. To remove, I usually cover it with a wet tissue to soften it then wipe it off.

None of this will help you though, so I would suggest the poo has clearly stained the clearcoat and that will hopefully just be on the surface. I think I would go to a bodyshop and get it machine polished out if possible.

Isn't it vital to know from what surface it is to be removed - metal, leather, fabric soft top, someone's head? Different solution for each surface, I would have thought fabric soft top would be the most difficult, though a dollop on the bonce isn't so good unless your name's Seemon, then a quick polish with a wet wipe should do. biggrin

I always carry a healthy supply of wet wipes for just such emergencies! biggrin

As has been mentioned, the poor boys stuff Is to remove the surface droppings, not the etching. Take it to a bodyshop and get them to polish it out, like 8tech said, and then after they have royally ballsed it up and left buffer trails everywhere, give me a call lol.

I would not dream of using anyone but you to handle my bodywork.
P.S. The stain is on my wife's car not my Aston.

I did get a twitch, but that wasn't the reason why I asked. If you were nearer or I was passing your way, I woukdve popped over and sorted for it out for you. I'll keep it in mind though if I'm ever round your way.
