Discussion
(thought worth a cross post as the Aston acquits itself particularly well)

I remember the quote " Would you choose Astons British Brogues over Porsches 2 a penny trainers?" The trouble is the GT3 is really that good. Having said that I felt the the V12S did rather well considering the rain and low temperatures. I still believe that my comment about not how fast you can drive but how you feel going fast is so relevant.
When you own an Aston Martin everyone knows it is special, I would think that when you own A GT3 you must spend a fair bit of time explaining how special it is and that it is not another 911.

Naah...could not give a toss what others think.....just fling the 7.2 RS at a corner..brake....blip..downshift...glance the apex..then bury throttle...and permagrin..as the flat 6 devours air...and roars for 8500rpm...everything else...fades.

Great review, but, it seems Owen might not have been informed that in SPORT mode [not adaptive damping system], the gearshifts are ultra-quick on full throttle. He had Sport ADS, but i think the actual SPORT button wasn't on. SPORT raises the hydraulic pressure in the electro-hydraulic clutch and gear actuators, thus speeding the process up, especially when you're on full throttle!

Well spotted Paul. This is yet another case of Aston Martin handing the vehicle over to some journalist who has not been brought upto speed on the latest features and driving aids. Whoever it is at Gaydon responsible should be given a good kicking for allowing their pinnacle sportscar to be subject to unfair criticism!

I nominate Paul to take the journo's out & educate them before they are let loose alone!Technically the Porsche will still come out on top but at least lets make sure these guys get the best out of AM's offerings

They are a bit touchy about the recall.
Although I do think Porsche are doing the right thing.
