Quick questions; apologies if it's been asked before.

Which is more saleable on a vantage roadster ... Manual or sportshift? Do either attract a premium come sale time? Mid so, which, and by how much?

Thanks for your help I'm advance

It all depends on what the buyer is looking for. The earlier sportshifts don't have the best of reputations... lots of posts on this Forum.... but there are those who love them (and others who don't). I don't think there is any premium except perhaps a slight price hike to match the cost of the sportshift in the first place. Mind you, there are some real fans of the manual out there... and now, chime in all those who have the V12V manual and say it's the best Aston ever....

If you're looking to buy, go with what YOU want to drive.

Saw your other posts and you are clearly moving around Porker and Ferraris as well. To get the best answer possible it's worth giving a little more info on the car you're looking at - in particular the age as this will indicate what version of sportshift.

BTW, I drive a V8V 2008 manual and steered away from the sportshift of that era. No doubt I could have been convinced and I won't rule it out when I buy again.

I am looking at several cars. I've always been a massive Ferrari fan and have owned several. I want something I can use daily and that Is more subtle ... Hence I'm also looking at am's v8 roadsters and 997 turbo cabs. I have come to the conclusion that I will probably go for whichever of those come up in the right condition and price. I have been offered a low mileage 2007 v8 roadster in the right colour at very good price but it's a sportshift which I didn't really want. It would seem the vast majority of roadsters are though.

I haven't driven an SS 1. I have SS 2 in a Vantage S and I think it's way better than a manual. Manual would probably be safer than SS 1 for resale, but I'd just drive the car and see if you like it or not. Incidentally, I recently spent a day thrashing a mate's 997 turbo. Aside from the blindingly fast acceleration, compared to the Aston, I found it to be bloody horrible.....
