Morning All,

My A/C doesn't seem to want to turn off.

Am I missing something obvious? (other than pushing the A/C button)

If the fan is set to auto the button is disabled. If you select a fan speed it should be possible. Think that's how it works, at least on my 07. Or is there something else wrong?

Thanks. That might well be the problem.

Agreed. I found this, and if you choose a fan speed, the A/C becomes switchable - 09MY V8VR.

If I remember correctly you must select something other than 'just windscreen' too to make it switchable

Why do you want to turn it off? Its climate control. Set the temperature you want and it will adjust cold / heat as approriate.

For me, I noticed driving with the hood down that the footwells had nice warm air but the dash vents had freezing cold air. Not sure what was going on, but thought I'd try it with the A/C off. Was able to get warm air out of the dash vents - don't really think it helped cabin temps, but it must have been better than cold air....

The reason I wanted to turn it off, was because I wanted to let the battery have a good charge.

It had been stood for 3 weeks and was telling me it was in "power saving mode"

30 miles later it was fine, but it just made me think that the switch might be duff.
