3 days of DB9 ownership left.

Mye new Bentley GTC V8S Mulliner arrived at the dealership from Enemy HQ this morning. It's being PDI'd, and then handed over to my tame detailer on Friday morning for the initial treatment.

Hoping for volante-friendly weather Friday afternoon then :-)

Have really enjoyed the Aston, and have nothing but good words to say about Stratstone Wilmslow service staff.

At 6'4", a daily driver which sees me seriously contemplating a swivel seat just starts to lose its shine after a while. That, and the golf clubs/trolley issue (strange but true) and desire to occasionally take both kids and the wife out for a spin (Rapide is too long for my liking).

So it's over to the Crewe crew for a solution, for the next couple of years anyway.

Au revoir (?)

Best of luck with your new motor,I can understand that when one gets to old age an Aston might become a bit of a struggle to get into.
The downside is the Roller and Bentley Forum on PH,is that boring or what ?
That alone makes me want to keep my Aston.
Well adieu ,old codger. thumbup

You need a little Aston (V12VS?) as a companion car for when you feel like something a bit more invigorating than the Bentley!

I was trundling around a motorway roundabout in my Range Rover the other day, window down, Radio 4 on the wireless. All of a sudden this noise like the tyres of an early F1 car shook me out of my slumber, followed by the bellow of something passing me in what sounded like a twin V8 Mercruiser speedboat as it flashed past my right ear.
This dark grey Bentley Coupe absolutely blasted by at about a bazllion miles an hour, did a jink left to change lanes, a slight dab on the brakes to adjust its approach speed to its exit, then disappeared up the slip road almost as quickly as it appeared, sounding like it was vacuuming up nails as it went.

Just awesome. cool

Sales were amongst the best I've encountered across the various Marques I have experienced.

Don't know about getting too old as it's got 521 bhp and 10% more torque than my Aston plus same performance figures and it's 4WD. Felt very very smooth and hugely capable on the test drive. Some serious torques going on as Clarkson would say.

The detailer will take lots of pics as is the norm so I will link to his pages when it goes up.

Finer detailing is the guy of anyone is interested. He has done my last 5 cars and is well known and I think respected by Paddy. He has just done the new car detail on wifey's RRS which landed 1 march.

Oh and yes the Rolls and Bentley forum is majorly lacking in enthusiasm and barely had a pulse!! Time to shake it up with some Wilmslow footballer tales.....

Ps I have two left feet. Though that would probably not be an issue for united as things stand!

I had a new Bentley GTC V8 on loan from Crewe a couple of months ago and i found it an astonishing car. If it had not been "forced" upon me from a friend from Bentley I would never have considered a Bentley but once driving it he was talking to the converted. Congrats on the purchase. It is indeed a great car.

Quick visit to the dealer after he told me the car had arrived for PDI and detailing.

A nice million euro P1 sitting in the opposite bay too.

I know you're on business matey but I hope your clientele is younger than those in Lanzarote. Most people here look like Woolders or Seemon and all the shop Windows are bifocal yes

Which brings us nicely back to the Bentley..... hehe
