Hi All,

I've been busy driving the car, and love it so far..

However, I managed to get these wheels, and I thought they would match the brightwork better than the stock 19" wheels that were on the car as it also has the bright finish grill.

They are forged 20" HRE 3 piece ball polished alu, and are a lot easier to clean than the factory wheels..

New tyres are 255F, 285R Michelin PS2, and the wheels have factory Aston sensors, but I need to get the ecu reset to clear the tpms fault next week.

I know some owners think of modifying the cars as sacrilege, but I am a tinkerer, and have always done something to all my cars.. I plan on doing the clear tail lights and maybe bright finish vents in the bonnet and wings.. I would also like to do the sport pack suspension, but keep the current ride height to save the front air dam and underside of the car..

Driver side (LHD) in front of the toy box.. (Warehouse/stable...)

Passenger side in front of the toy box..

In the shade at Starbucks..... Yes, I do live in CA... wink

Comments/opinions/et al..?

It's the sort of mod that can only work in the Californian sunshine. If you were there on your hols with Mrs Ton' you'd probably see it in a different light. Ever come home to find that superb wine you had in the hotel restaurant next to the pool now tastes like windowlene?? Same thing.

Now offense American cousin, but what works in one place, doesn't always work in another but I can see what your trying to achieve.......... I think.

I'm afraid that's the motoring equivalent of mixing Cheval Blanc with 7-up.

Nice colour on the car.

The wheels are hideous and do a good job of making the car look cheap and nasty though.

I do like the colour of the car and as Greg said, certain wheels work better in certain environments - polished wheels generally look odd to British eyes though are very normal in the US. No doubting the quality of HRE though.

Did you weigh them? Any saving?

super duper car but the wheels are the worst I have ever seen on an Aston (almost) sorry but I think you have truly spoilt your stunning car.

No offence taken.. no chain, rings etc.. I understand it's not for everyone. I think it has to do with the amount of sunshine we have here, as well as the fresh air and beach.. It often goes to the head biggrin

I still have the factory wheels, and can always switch them as needed.

LD,

No offence taken.. However, I think you make the same point I was trying to make.. In the sunshine, and sea air, it works.. In gray ol' blighty... it would not..

I personally like the design of the wheels.....perhaps in a matt anthracite....

Sounds like a wine spritzer... biggrin Granted, it's not for everyone, and I do think that the chinese that pour coke into their glass of Chateau Lafite is pretty awful myself.. Then again, I'm not chinese...

Thanks for the comments, I realize that there are differences across the ocean..

I have not weighed them, but they may save a few #'s from the factory wheels. I don't think they are as light as the 3 pc BBS E28 centerlocks on my Porsche, but I can put them on a scale one of these days and see. I saw a set of Dymags that were 12 lbs ea., but I think they would look odd in black and carbon fiber on the volante. They were also a bit more than I wanted to spend. On a coupe the Dymags would work though..

Thanks for the welcome to PH.. No offence taken, everyone has an opinion, and I did ask for it to see what others thought.
