Using the Aston for work
Discussion
Who uses the car for work?
More so who has there car on show in full view of the public?
Today I had a issue with the car so had to take it to work where it was delivered back to afterwards.
So this afternoon it's parked outside our company entrance where our customers use.
Needless to say it creates a extreme amount of comments good and bad you can guess the bad.
To the point my misses who works with me and first contact is embarrassed with the attention so I'm selective as to when I take it to work.
How's it for others?
Cheers

Use mine all the time.....I get the usual crap...check your invoices and so on....I just tell em to f
k off....
I can and are sometimes rude to customers but that is rather extreme. However I really do feel like saying it but
k off....that's the beauty of dealing with the public.
drive to work every single day, park right in front of the entrance. Never had a single negative comment from 3 years from customers, deliveries, bank managers and even the nice lady from HMRC yesterday.
Only eyebrows ever raised are when people ask about it and are surprised it's mine. I guess they think there's a guy in a suit inside that owns it.

Not had any adverse comment taking the Vantage to work. Funnily enough, one of the things I like about it is that it is fairly non-ostentatious. That goes for taking it to the shops as much as taking it to work. I get far more "flash barsteward" type banter turning up in a Ferrari (probably not unexpectedly) or a much cheaper Lotus.
Was asked recently if I'd won the lottery. Nope, just work bloody hard. Unfortunately, in this country you get a pat on the back for drawing six random numbers, but a lot of jealous reaction if you get off your arse and make a go of it. Strange.
I just give my usual response: "Hey, the locks are on the inside, you know!"

0 TO 60 for me is 'your lucky to….."
Me, "strange that, the harder I work the luckier I get."
Although I have two acquaintances who each bought themselves a vantage which was quickly followed by their employees beating a way to their door asking for a rise.
That said perceptions carry significant weight and if your concerned why risk it?

Although I work in a high end Million pound industry literally dealing with Billionaires on a daily basis the 'President' of our company has asked that I remove the photograph of my car as my screen saver and not wear Aston Martin clothing when we have client meetings....
Is that because you work for Ferrari? He may have a point :-)My boss has no problem with me taking the Vantage to work to date it is just a talking point with visitors.
Many years back though when I had a TVR Griffith I was made redundant and worked for a builder mate for a while. Using the TVR wasn't a problem for him but one of his customers complained that he must be overcharging if the hired help could drive around in a car like that.
At the time my mate used a decent people carrier for work which was worth more than my Griff, peoples perceptions can very skewed.

Mine lives under the building with all the newer Astons, Bentleys and Lambos
I have a new boss who moved up from Cape Town, he found out the guy who sits opposite drives an XK which he though was nice. Then he found out I had a DB9 and there as a serious look of displeasure there... Despite the fact it's a leggy old nail and worth less than his Merc

What is this work you talk of
Mine is in the car park today as is quite often the case. The Tandoori Express also goes to clients however most are down saaf and have considerably better cars than what I have
I'd love to be able to afford a DBS. Must check your renewal quote

Used to take the silver V8V to work as was reasonably comfortable with that but the white V12V has never been to work and very unlikely ever to. Reaction to the V8V to me was positive but I was more concerned about what maybe wasn't being said to my face. Shame really.
That's interesting. I would have thought that the vast majority of people wouldn't know the difference and those who did would be enthusiasts?
