If AM didn't exist what would you be driving instead?

Given the same budget as you spent on your Aston what would be in your garage now and why?
For me it would either be a 911 GT3 in white or a Ferrari 599 in Grigio Titanio with monolithic wheels. Not driven either but the 911 looks better and better with every iteration and never read anything other than 5* reviews. As for the Ferrari, this is just stunning and have dreamed about owning a Ferrari since first seeing a Boxer as a lad and dare I say it the 308 on Magnum, but I would be worried about the running costs of a 599 or rather the repair costs. So, comes down to a head v heart decision and a tough one but the 599 would have won I think.

Deffo a Porsche 991 (had 2 before my last 3 Astons) - great cars and fun to drive, but unfortunately come with a poor public opinion and lacking that special feeling that only an Aston has.
Failing that if budget was to become an issue, either a BMW M car or perhaps even an Arbarth 500

My answer - just an ordinary daily driver, for transport.
An Aston Martin Vantage ticks all of the boxes for me.
If such a wonderful and beautiful sports car had not been created, I would not have bothered with anything else (ticking only half of the boxes).

Everyone keeps saying Porsche but I just don't find them that special. Here in LA you see a LOT of 911s. To me they look boring honestly.
I haven't even felt like test driving one when I was shopping for my last 2 cars.
I'd rather get something smaller and also cheaper. The Vantage is the only car I would spend nearly this much money on. Otherwise I'd be driving a BMW Z4. You don't see that many around, they sound pretty good when you push them and yeah, while they're probably not as nimble as a Cayman or a 911 (from what I heard), they're more than enough for canyon carving and in the city too. You just need to find one with extended leather and a nice interior trim color option, DCT and at least the 35i.
