Apologies if this has been asked before, the search function jhas drawn a blank.

I'm trying to get the battery out of the car. There are three bolts at the rear of the metal plate that covers the battery compartment. These bolts are covered by the rear of the seat - so I cannot access them.

Does the rear of the seat come out easily?

Also, does anyone know what oth4er vehicles the battery is used in? Halfords don't list Aston Martin in their battery selector guides.

Thanks.

In a DB9 the battery is under the right rear seat which is held in place by Velcro. Just give it a tug to remove. Underneath is an aluminum cover secured by 7 to 10 bolts around the perimeter. After removing you will see a rather large heavy battery in the container. Remove the cables starting with the Negative, The replacement battery I chose was a Odyssey PC1220-A which turned out to be a good choice.

Hope this helps

Thanks. It confirms my suspicion about the battery model. So I can go to Halfords and get a new one.

Unfortunately, I still cannot get the old battery out.

The clamp which holds the battery in is prevented from moving more than an inch by an aluminium plate which is araldited to the chassis.

Any ideas?

There should be a bolt holding the clamp, remove it and take our the clamp.
Be very careful removing the battery it's a heavy old lump.
Put the vent tube back if the new battery has the facility for one.
