When I close the bonnet on my V8 Vantage, sometimes the rubber pops out on certain parts of the bonnet (both sides)... Is there a remedy for this or do both rubber strips need to be replaced? Many thanks.

Had exactly the same on mine. Dealer said they adjusted the bonnet on it's last service and no need for a new rubber.

Closing the bonnet more carefully, ie so that it didn't go past where the catch catches, stopped it happening on mine.

I lightly sprayed some rubber lubricant on the front section of the seal each side, which cured the issue.

Thanks Nigel... Do you have a brand name or a source for the rubber lubricant please?

I had this on mine and like others the dealer adjusted the bonnet. However, it still pops up occasionally. If it does, I either lift and close the bonnet again, or just push it down with my thumb, which puts the bit that is sticking out, back into place.

Wynn's Silicone Lube - available on ebay or a well known car accessory chain

This happens because you are closing the bonnet from too high. Air is getting trapped between the radiator cover and the bonnet itself and pushing up on the rubber as the lid is coming down. The solution to this problem is to close the bonnet from a lower height. Lower the bonnet slowly past the catch then push it down by pressing sharply from the leading edge (directly above the grille). Do not press on center of the bonnet near the badge to avoid the risk of warping it.
