Been looking that's all.

Thought I would take a look at the new Jag F.Type Coupe V8. Over a 2 day period and some 9 phone calls to a dealer being passed from pillar to post I at long last secured a demo drive. Arriving at the agreed time I was kept waiting for 15 minutes for the salesman to meet me. When he eventually appeared I was led to the car. Finished in white with a black glass roof it looked stunning! The problem was that they would have needed to move 7 Vehicles to get it outside! Feeling miffed I left.
Looking at and reading about the car will have people rather worried at Stuttgart and Gaydon. They need not be too worried though because the truly awful dealership staff will ensure that only the very determined will actually purchase a car. Maybe I have been spoilt by H.R.Owen and Aston Martin but this was the second attempt at another Jaguar dealership.
In the meantime catch Chris Harris's latest test of the new F.Type R, quite something.

: totally agree with you Rob......my success has come from hard work and looking after my customers far beyond their expectations.....I don't want to be "dicked" about when considering the purchase of a 80k car, I want the whole experience to be perfect
Trouble is, the Jag dealers are used to looking after barrow boys and people in sheepskin coats and not handsome sophisticated gentlemen like what we iz

Rob, It could be down to the dealership so I wouldn't let it put you off. I popped in to Harwoods in Chichester which is a duel Jaguar and AM dealership to collect a new keyfob. By the time I received a cup of coffee one of the Jaguar salesmen who was aware that me previous car was an XKR asked me if I fancied a test drive in a V8 F-Type. I told him that I didn't have my licence with me so he just gave me the keys and said "It's Ok, we know you". He asked me to be back in 20 minutes as they had another test drive booked so off I went.
I loved the car and, 'Hand on Heart', if I didn't have BLOFELD I would have been seriously interested.

There you have it Rob, they spotted Pearl and the Barbour and knew instantly they were totally outclassed. Trouble is, the Jag dealers are used to looking after barrow boys and people in sheepskin coats and not handsome sophisticated gentlemen like what we iz

I have now spoken to the General Manager, took 4 attempts but whose counting! I told him about my experience to date. His reaction was more dismissive than apologetic claiming that they were very busy. I told him that we had grown very accustomed to the exemplary service provided by Aston Martin. His reply was to say that AM only sell about 6 cars!
Still fancy a drive though.

I bought a Jaguar XFR from Guy Salmon in Maidstone earlier this year and I couldn't have asked for better service.

Everybody at the dealership was polite, punctual, efficient and ever ready to be of assistance.
I have recently been in discussion with them regarding an F type coupe and I am confident they will be just as reliable on my return.
Shame it wasn't a good experience for you as first impressions are very important. Wouldn't necessarily write the car off as "a bad 'un" because of this disappointment.
