Hi there had some side skirts fitted to my 07 vantage just after christmas since then it's been in the garage brought it out this weekend one of my friends noticed the skirts and mentioned like the two tone on closer inspection they don't match exactly these were fitted at jct600 leeds so they cost quite a lot to be painted and fitted my car is bright silver so what I'm trying to say is should the colour match exactly what's your thoughts

I've used jct in Leeds for a previous repair on an i6 bumper, the colour match was perfect so I'd assume they should be perfect with side sills too. If not happy I'd take it back in and get them to check the colours.

This is actually quite common and if you look carefully, many side sills don't match perfectly with rest of the car even if they used the same exact paint and painted them at the same time. Many paint professionals claim that this is due to the difference in the material being painted. Don't know if I truly buy the story, but this is what I have heard.

A neighbour of mine had this problem on a different car. I think the material would make a difference but then that's why I thought primer was used. The other was the angle of the panel and subtle lighting effects.

On wheeler dealers they were doing some paint work and the paint shop didn't use the manufacturing paint code but scanned the paint to account for slight fading etc, but that was on a much older car

Very common.

Side skirts are plastic (with new paint) and therefore will be almost impossible to match perfectly. The newer the car the better the result. If it was all painted as one (from factory for example) it will be ever closer.

And the only way to check is to put the car in direct sunlight, side on - then look.

When I did mine, I used a local paint shop, cost was £100 quid and the colour match was perfect...

Out of curiosity, how much was it to get them bought, painted and fitted?

Looking at N400 and V12 options at the moment

Thanks
